Bark in the Park

Henderson, Nevada hosted the 14th annual Bark In the Park, a celebration of our canine friends with dozens of informational and vendor booths and lots of beautiful dogs needing forever homes.  Facebook event page

It’s a refreshing change of pace for dog lovers, with plenty of bowls of water for the dogs.

Adoption was available on site.

Henderson Police Department’s K-9 unit demonstrated what they do.

New in 2017 was the 5K fun run for dogs and their human friends. The inaugural Rover Run is at 9am along Cornerstone Park Trail. The first 350 registered participants received a T-shirt and a finisher dog tag for their dog’s collar. Registration cost $25 per person.

All pets must be leashed and handlers must be at least 10 years old. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Admission is free.

Overflow parking and shuttle available from RC Willey, 20 North Stephanie Street. Bring canned pet food to benefit the Meals on Wheels pet program.

Spotlight: Golden Retrieve Rescue of Southern Nevada is an organization which provides a rescue program for abandoned, mistreated, or unwanted golden retrievers.
