to celebrate 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity,
are pleased to issue a call for photos documenting Biodiversity,
Low Carbon Lifestyles and Responsible Tourism for World
Tourism Day (September 27).
"We recommend celebrating ecotourism, responsible tourism
and the local travel movement every day," said Planeta.com
founder Ron Mader. "This year we issue a photo challenge
- to post pictures in different Flickr
Groups starting with
the World
Tourism Day Group."
UNWTO is the
host of World
Tourism Day celebrations, hosted in 2010 by China. The theme
of Tourism and Biodiversity provides an opportunity to raise public
awareness of the importance of biodiversity to tourism and the
role of sustainable tourism in the conservation of life on Earth.
Planeta.com's Ron Mader will be celebrating World Tourism Day
at the Ecotourism
Europe Conference in Estonia.
