The IUCN and the Swiss PORINI Foundation are developing a Green List Standard Token (GLS) to help link credible evaluation and verification of conservation success to a financing mechanism. Hashtag:
The system uses the Green List Standard, a global benchmark to improve nature conservation and biodiversity in protected areas.
To keep track of the global success of the Green List program, IUCN will create a blockchain-enabled process for participating ‘Green List’ candidates. Green List Standard (GLS) Tokens will allow finance for the program in a fair and transparent manner. Every GLS Token will result in a positive impact on biodiversity.
We are just learning about the program. This page will be updated with more details.
- How does this work?
- How transparent will the process be?
- What sort of outcomes are expected?
Our #blockchain-enabled certification process will improve performance and success of conserved & #protectedAreas @IUCN across the globe to reach #GlobalGoals.
Only 18 hours till #GreenListStandard Token Generation Event @PoriniFoundatio.
