What is Marine World Heritage?
Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Today, 49 marine sites are inscribed on the World Heritage List. These sites are considered “the very best of the best”: they represent the most outstanding and valuable places in our marine environment. Their disappearance would be an irreplaceable loss to humanity.
